Whether you’re a local or a visitor who prefers to avoid tourist traps and pricey activities, I created a list of different ways you can enjoy San Diego on a budget with your girlfriends!
According to studies, carving out quality time with your besties and strengthening that personal connection can make a difference when it comes to happiness– even for introverts. If you’re looking for fun and different ideas for your girl-dates, consider trying one of the activities below!
One // Get toasted sandwiches to-go at Cheba Hut (If you like spicy I recommend the Kali Mist with garlic bread) and drive to Calamut Park in Bird Rock to enjoy your meal picnic-style on the bluffs. Bring a blanket and enjoy at sunset.
Two // Take a cardio hip-hop class at Culture Shock. They offer all day happy hour half-off deals every Friday! Get a workout AND have a blast with your friends! Level II classes are considered beginning/intermediate.
Three // Rent bikes on Coronado island and get gelato after at Gelato Paradiso.
Four // Check out Wine Wednesday at We Olive and Wine Bar in La Jolla. Wine glasses are all 1/2 off all day! This spot is a hidden gem– its usually quiet and you get ocean-view seating!
Five // Create a boho-inspired beach picnic setting with cheese, charcuterie, and wine! Check out my guide to the ultimate boho-picnic party! There are so many beaches to choose from but I love Windansea, Cuvier Park, and Coronado beach.
Six // Enjoy craft beer at the cutest bohemian-style brewery, Helia Brewing Co. Located in Vista (north county), their beautiful space and laid back beach vibe make it a great place to gather with your girlfriends for happy hour.
Seven // Go on a morning hike! I love Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve (ocean views), Iron Mountain (valley views), Garnet Peak in Mount Laguna (views of Anza-Borrego), and Penasquitos Canyon Reserve (golden fields and lots of trees).
