If SPF isn’t part of your daily routine yet, it’s time to start now, my friend! Even if its overcast outside. 80% of visible signs of aging on our face are caused by the sun and increased UV exposure. Common signs of sun damage include fine lines, wrinkles, lack of firmness, and sun spots. Even our hair can show signs of sun damage, including dry, brittle, and thinning strands.
If you want to slow down the aging process, use SPF 30+ daily and limit the time you’re in the sun between 10am-4pm (when the sun’s rays are the most intense). And don’t even think about going to a tanning bed!

Good to Know: Shelf Life + Skin Care
I think many of us don’t realize that beauty products expire, like our food! While products can vary, the industry standard for product shelf life is 2.5 years, which is achieved by using preservatives and additives. However, active ingredients like Vitamin C and E naturally break down and start to lose their effectiveness in just a few months! This means that the benefits of active ingredients are often compromised with time-related breakdown. And yes, even sunscreens expire (make sure to check the expiration date).

MINERAL DEFENSE SUNSCREEN (SPF 30 UVA/UVB)
This is my favorite mineral sunscreen. I love it because it’s lightweight, non-greasy, non-sticky, doesn’t leave a white cast, and gives my skin a nice healthy glow. Its neutral tint also helps even out some redness in my skin tone. Made with zinc oxide, this mineral sunscreen deflects and scatters damaging UV rays. It’s free of fragrance, chemical fillers, and titanium dioxide. The only thing is that it’s a bit pricey ($59), but a quality sunscreen is something I’m willing to invest in.
SUN REPAIR SERUM
This is a daily hydrating serum for sun exposed skin. It soothes, calms, hydrates, and neutralizes free radicals with its concentration of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and chamomile flower. You can use this serum in your daily routine or after spending extra time in the sun. It reminds me of a lightweight daytime lotion with its light texture and white color. It’s a nice antioxidant serum with vitamins C + E, which help brighten the skin and prevents inflammatory damage after UV exposure. $69 on NUORI’s site.
SHIELD SPRAY
I love this leave-on spray for my hair! It protects against pollution, UV, and heat, and it also adds texture! I’ve been wanting a hair product that shields and protects hair from UV light. It’s fragrance-free, gentle, sprays evenly, and feels nourishing. $35 on NUORI’s site.
