Social distancing is our new way of life in 2020 and even as an introvert, I experience moments of loneliness and sadness. If you’re interested in ways you can spend your extra time indoors and help brighten someone’s day, see below for some tips!
Send them snail mail.
There’s something special about handwritten notes and unexpected, small deeds that go a long way. In a world full of technology, sending a homemade card or handwritten letter is a simple and sweet way to spread joy. There’s also something nostalgic about snail mail – it makes me miss a time when things moved slower and there were less distractions.
Make them a spotify playlist.
Speaking of nostalgia. Remember when mix tapes or mix CDs were a thing? Why not curate a list of upbeat or relaxing tunes on Spotify for your friends?
Drop off fresh baked goodies at their doorstep
Make a batch of your favorite cookies or treat, fill them in a small container, and drop them off at your friend’s doorstep! Go the extra step and leave a little hand-written note with the recipe! Check out the recipe for these cinnamon and hazelnut biscotti here.
make self-care packages (while supporting small businesses)
Missing a friend’s birthday? Or just want to do something special? Fill a box up with some self-care products to help a loved one feel relaxed and pampered. You can include beauty products, snacks, wine, or candles! Instead of Amazon or Target, support small businesses! Some ideas:
- Wellness Teas ($14.99) from UMM Skincare
- Delux Minis ($10 each) from Good Medicine Beauty Lab – Check out which ones I recommend here!
- Tumeric and Which Hazel Clay Mask ($39) by Kara Maree
- Mini-Trio Travel Kit ($39) from Wild Magic Beauty
- Eucalyptus + Mint Bath Soak with CBD ($32) from Mica Organics
Schedule a virtual craft night
Pick a night to do virtual crafts and wine with some girlfriends! Make cards, play with watercolor, bake, sew, or try something new as you catch up with friends while creating!
Schedule a virtual happy hour
Set a date and put it on the calendar! Pour yourself a glass of wine (or whatever you prefer) and enjoy a virtual happy hour! I love using Zoom for groups or FaceTime for 1×1.
