Germany is a world leader in technology, innovation, and engineering. So it’s no surprise that German beauty is also renowned for being science-led, efficient, and technology driven. They’re like the Mercedes-Benz of skincare. Instead of following trends and novel routines, German beauty has a science-backed approach to skin care. They also value sustainability, craftsmanship, efficacy, and transparency.
Today I’m highlighting my favorite German beauty brand, BABOR! Keep reading to learn more about a few skincare essentials from their beautiful line!
BABOR
BABOR is a family-owned global brand founded on scientific research and rooted in sustainability. Made in Germany, they create clean cosmeceuticals and high performance products. Sustainability and protecting our planet is just as important to them as creating effective formulas.
2-STEP CLEANSER
I love this 2-step deep-action cleansing duo! I was totally using it incorrectly at first (not blending them together). Take 4 pumps of HY-OL and 2 pumps of Phytoactive Hyro Base and massage on your face until a milky emulsion forms. Then rinse!
Step 1: HY-ÖL is made with pure natural plant oils and Quillaja Extract. It’s great for all skin types and effectively removes dirt and makeup. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, soft, and smooth.
Step 2: Phytoactive Hydro Base is made with natural herbal essences tailored to normal, combination and dry skin types. It treats, refreshes, and gives your skin radiance.
TONING ESSENCE
The Rose Toning Essence is an alcohol free facial toner for all skin types. It’s not astringent, feels hydrating, and has refreshing effect.
AMPOULES
What are ampoules? They’re like supercharged serums. They’re highly concentrated active ingredients packed in one-time use glass vials. They’re small but mighty, delivering high-tech ingredients for visible and effective results. BABOR’s ampoules cater to different skincare needs, including hydration, firming, repairing, and lifting. I tried one of their 14-day intensive treatments which left my skin looking noticeably more hydrated and plump!
COLLAGEN CREAM
Doctor Babor – Lifting RX – Collagen Cream. Ok, ladies. This is probably the nicest, high-end cream I’ve ever used. It has a higher price tag ($155) but it noticeably improved my skin texture with two months of consistent use. It’s formulated to visibly improve firmness, fine lines and wrinkles. The texture is silky smooth, non-greasy, and surprisingly light. It just MELTS into my skin. People call it a “miracle worker” so if you have the budget and want an effective anti-aging moisturizer, I recommend this one!
