“Entertaining isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about creating beautiful moments with the people that surround you. For most of us, life is busy and often complicated, but much fuller and richer when shared with those you love.” -Jenni Kayne

When a few creative friends wanted to create a Jenni Kayne-inspired tablescape, I knew it was going to be jaw-droppingly-dreamy! A team of stylists and creatives incorporated neutral tones, white blooms, citrus fruits, and pops of color to create this look!

Step 1: The Place Setting
Create beautiful layers with woven placements, ceramic plates, and neutral linen napkins. To add a pop of color, add some accent floral pieces on top! Lauren from Lauren’s Letters also created ice cubes with rose buds frozen inside!
Step 2: Homemade Party Favors
Jenni Kayne is known for making handcrafted gifts for her guests to take home with them! Prepare these Citrus + Rose Bath Salt jars before the party and place them on top of each table setting.
Citrus + Rose Bath Salts (yields 1 jar)
- 3-ounce glass jar with cork top
- 1 ½ cups Epsom salt
- ¾ cup sea salt
- ¾ cup baking soda
- Lemon and orange essential oils
- 1 teaspoon dried orange zest
- 1 teaspoon dried lemon zest
- Dried rose buds
In the glass jar, combine Epsom salt, sea salt and baking soda with a few drops of each essential oil and the citrus zest. Mix well and seal tight.
Step 3: Table Centerpiece + Decor
I love the simplicity and timelessness of all-white floral centerpieces (these were designed by Creative Light). Line the table with taper candles and holders. Note: Although we had trouble keeping them lit (especially with an outdoor breeze), they still look eye-catching and elegant. Fresh cut lavender, citrus fruits, and baskets also make cute decor pieces!
Step 4: Charcuterie + Cheese
My friend Cait made this board only using items from Trade Joes! Start with placing the cheese and meats on different sides of the plate. Add the crackers. Layer on colorful fruits and vegetables. Fill in any remaining space with nuts!
Step 5: Dessert
This gorgeous cake was created by Liz Gober. She kept the theme in mind and used citrus and simple greenery to decorate her naked cake.
Step 6: Enjoy!
This table setting was full of warmth, fresh flavors, and earthly delights, and it sparked joy for all who were involved! Whether you’re celebrating something small or big, creating beautiful moments brings a fullness and richness to life that we can share with others.
